USA: Gary Graham accuses US state of genocide moments before his execution

Death row prisoner Gary Graham was executed in Texas, USA yesterday. Graham put up a struggle as he was snatched from his cell. He told onlookers:

"I die fighting for what I believed in and the truth will come out", He urged that his case be taken to an international court, and called for a
moratorium on executions. Graham continued, "Malcolm X and Martin Luther King, Jr. stood up for what is just...You can kill a revolutionary, but you can't stop a revolution." "This is nothing more than murder, state sanctioned murder in America."

Earlier he accused the US state of genocide because of its inhuman and
racist execution policy against black prisoners.

We call for the immediate abolition of the death penalty and for the world's labour movement to send protests to Texas governor George W Bush and President Bill Clinton.

The death penalty is unjust on all counts, but in the USA it is also used as a specific weapon of oppression against the black community.
